Introversion Is One Thing, But You Can’t Manage Without Confidence

It’s no secret nowadays that introverts make decent entrepreneurs. There are plenty of shy and retiring types high up in the business world now and for a good reason. As an introvert, you’re able to take the outside perspective, and you’re empathetic to boot. Never let a shy disposition or a quiet attitude stop you from achieving your dreams. Instead, work out how you can turn your personality into a plus, then set about achieving your dreams. You could become yet another of the quiet managers making it work.

It is worth noting, though, that while introversion can be useful, the same can’t be said for lack of confidence. Sadly, these two things go hand in hand, and they can often become a quiet manager’s undoing. To make sure you don’t fall foul, consider whether the following confidence wobbles are standing in your way.

You don’t believe in your products

If you don’t believe in your products, you’re in trouble. Modesty is helpful to some extent, but if you’re afraid to toot your product horn in any way, you’re heading for a fall. You need to sell the stuff, after all, and that’s not going to happen if you don’t think it’s good enough. If you’ve been holding back so far, do a little research. By looking at what else is on the market, you can draw a straight comparison to your products. The chances are that you’ll find they’re better than you thought. If not, at least you can work on improvements which you’ll be better able to feel faith in.

You’re afraid to ask for help

As an introvert, you may find it difficult to ask for help. It’s not that you’re too proud; it’s just that you get embarrassed. The trouble is that you could fail if you try to manage everything on your own. You avoid meeting clients

Let’s say that you’re good with product development and distant marketing. But, as soon as a client asks for an in-person meeting, you run a mile or mess up. For the most part, this is a fear you need to face before you can improve. You may also find that relying on something like a powerpoint presentation can help to take some pressure off. At the very least, it can provide guidance to ensure you keep your pitch on track no matter how nervous and jumbled you feel. As simple as that, you could seal every deal you go for. And, if that happens, your confidence in this area should start to grow of its own accord.
