World Introvert Day Jan 2nd 2024 👆🏼

There’s a dreaded question that people who have not long left university have to answer all the time. It’s the one that goes “so what are you going to do with your career?” It’s not an easy thing to figure out, let alone achieve. But there’s another matter at hand too: some of the careers that are popular today might, for one reason or another, not be around a few decades down the line. So when it comes to answering that question, you need to figure out what you like doing AND what’s possible. Fortunately, there’ll be no shortage of cool career options!

Who’s the Largest Spending Group?

You hear the word baby boomers a lot. They’re a massive group of people who are more or less in charge of the world! However, they’re getting older. And this might be a problem. Because there’s so many of them, there’s going to be a lot of people who aren’t as capable as they once were, and they’re going outnumber every other group of people! So if you’re thinking about what careers are about to become increasingly needed, it might be worthwhile looking at jobs that deal in senior healthcare and the like.

Food and Drink

In the old days, people would have no problem spending their money on flashy products, but that’s not the case anymore. There is one area where people feel comfortable spending more than necessary, however: food and drink. Artisan cooking creations and craft beer have rocketed in popularity in recent years. Consumers, no longer content with handing over their money for just anything, now want to ensure that they’re getting quality for their buck. A food truck that specializes in street food, or a microbrewery that makes delicious craft beers might be the way to go!

Changing Attitudes

We live in changing times. As times progress, a lot of the old rules are being modified or abandoned altogether, and this means that there’s a space for new industries to emerge. For instance, it’s now possible to carve out a legitimate career dealing in medical cannabis, or at least it is in many US states. As time marches forward, this is only going to become an even bigger market- and it’ll bring it with plenty of opportunities to make good money.

Solving Global Issues

While some areas of life are progressing forward, others are bringing with it more challenges. Take climate change. It’s becoming increasingly clear that there’s going to be a lot of problems when it comes in full force. If you’re an engineer, you’ll find plenty of work helping cities dealing with the issues that it brings.

Forever Safe Bets

Finally, don’t forget that classic “safe bets.” If you work in education or healthcare, then you’ll always be guaranteed to have work. This is because this is one area where automation will not be felt. You can’t replace a nurse doing the rounds of the ward with a robot! They’re rewarding, useful jobs that’ll always be around.
