Where Do You See Yourself In 10 Years Time?

This is a big question to ask yourself, isn’t it really? The future can be rather scary for a lot of people, it’s something that they don’t like the thought of facing. But the reason for this is usually the fear of the unknown. Life can be a random thing at times, and the paths you can take might not be the ones you ever intended to do so. But that’s what is just so exciting about this world. It’ll take you on a journey that you never expected, and you’ll always end up right where you’re meant to be. But when talking about the future, your career has to be one of the most nerve wracking aspects of life. A career is for life, literally. We’re stuck working until retirement age, and although it varies from country to country, it’s still a ripe old age. So, when thinking about 10 years down the line, think about your career, and where you would like to be. If you need some inspiration, we have it for you, have a read on to find out more.

Find Your Path

This is the first thing that you need to be thinking about. What path do you actually want your career to go down. Do you want progression, or do you want the easy life? So many people go into a role that just isn’t suited to them because they’re given too much responsibility. They feel pressured, exhausted, and often hate the company that they work for. On the other end of the scale, some people are stuck in jobs where they’re not mentally challenged, meaning clock watching becomes a real issue. So, finding the balance that’s perfect for you is essential. Always make sure a career has progression, even if you feel you don’t want it at the time. The more progression there is, the more money that you could potentially make further down the line, when you feel ready of course. You never know, the path that you want to take could be one that takes you abroad even! So many people are packing their bags and travelling a way in search of a new life. Which there is absolutely nothing wrong with that!

Find Your Career

So, rather than thinking of what you actually want from a career, it’s time to think about what career you actually want. Whilst it isn’t the best to keep moving from career to career, there should be nothing stopping you when it comes to finding your perfect job. So, think long and hard about the type of role that you might suit. Something that is being cried out for at the minute, that we think you might like the diversity of, is nursing. Nursing is easily one of the most rewarding jobs out there, but so many people are choosing different career paths due to the lengthy hours that need to be worked. But when you’re caring for someone, the hours shouldn’t matter to you! You can easily sign up to Nursing Degree Programs and get yourself going with a career like this. The starting pay is good, and there definitely is plenty of room for progression if that’s what you’re after. On the other end of the scale, you might like to go for something more office based. Just chose a company that you actually have an interest in. Basic admin work might become a little boring to you, so go for something a little more creative such as marketing. You could even work your way up to a managerial role, and boy then would you be able to find the money!

Find Your Happiness

Your happiness should trump everything. Don’t go in search of a career that offers the most money, this is one of the worst mistakes you could make. Money isn’t the route of all happiness, although we won’t lie, it does really help. You need to be focusing more on your job satisfaction, and what you might be able to get out of a role. The people you work with is also going to help a lot. If you’re stuck in an office full of personality clashes, you’re obviously going to struggle to stay happy. When this happens, there’s nothing worse than the thought of getting up and going into work. If your happiness means taking some time out from the working world to find it, don’t be afraid to do so!

So, do you have a clearer picture of where you see yourself in 10 years time? It’s time to do some soul searching and figure out what you might actually want from life!
