Responding to Facebook Posts

There are a lot of Facebook groups out there in which people can ask for help, they can post for recommendations for something they want doing or need assistance with. They might suggest what work they need doing, how much they are willing to pay, and what they expect for it. If they are nice and specific, it is very helpful for people who may be interested.

I have done this myself, and I found myself with a lot of frustrations. The first was people not reading how I wanted to be communicated with by potential interested parties. I wanted to be messaged privately, so I included the instruction ‘PM’ me. Instead, I got people commenting directly on the post or even just liking it or replying with emojis.

And it didn’t end there…

One person did direct message me, but did so using the waving feature. I didn’t know anything about this person or their skills, so this left me with the frustrating task of replying and asking them for all the things that I should have been sent in the first place. Another, asked me to call them with details, but didn’t leave me any contact details.

In the end, the person who got hired was the person who sent me their resume, their LinkedIn page, and details of how to contact them. They were qualified and made it easy for me, it truly was that simple.
